Report Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery

This post is also available in: Deutsch (German)

What is non-consensual intimate imagery? #

Non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII) is sexually explicit content depicting a real person that was shared without that person’s consent. This includes:

  • Content that was recorded with consent, but published without it
  • Content recorded without consent from the start
  • Deepfakes, face-swaps, or other AI-generated or manipulated material depicting a real, identifiable person who did not consent to being shown that way

FansyMe removes confirmed non-consensual intimate imagery as a matter of policy, regardless of who uploaded it or how long it has been on the platform.

How do I report intimate imagery of myself posted without my consent? #

If the content is a specific post or message, use the in-app Report feature and select “Intimate images shared without my consent (NCII)” as the reason.

You can also email [[email protected]] with the details of your report. You don’t need a FansyMe account to do this.

Not sure if your situation qualifies? Submit the report anyway. Our team will review it and point you in the right direction either way.

What happens after I submit my report? #

  1. Confirmation. You’ll receive a case reference ID (e.g. NCII-XXXXXXXX) confirming we received your report.
  2. Precautionary hold. The reported content is hidden from other users while we review your report.
  3. Identity confirmation. Since our in-app report form doesn’t support file uploads, we’ll ask you to email a copy of a government-issued ID to [[email protected]], referencing your case ID, so we can confirm the report is genuine.
  4. Review. A member of our moderation team reviews the report and the supporting information.
  5. Decision. We aim to complete review and reach a decision within 24 hours of receiving a complete report, including identity confirmation.
  6. Outcome notice. We confirm the outcome in writing, along with the reasoning.

If anything is missing, we’ll reach out using the contact details you provided. Reports missing identity confirmation will take longer, since we cannot make a final decision without it.

What information does my report need to include? #

To help us act on your report as quickly as possible, please include:

  • Your signature (typed full name with an electronic confirmation, or handwritten)
  • Where the material is located (post link, message reference, or profile URL)
  • Your contact details (email address)
  • A good-faith statement confirming the material depicts you (or someone you’re authorised to represent) and was shared without consent
  • A copy of a government-issued ID, sent by email, to confirm your identity

Missing information won’t stop us from reviewing your report, but it will take longer to reach a final decision.

Can I report intimate imagery on behalf of someone else? #

You can submit a report for another person if you are:

  • The parent or legal guardian of a minor shown in the material;
  • A lawyer or other authorised legal representative acting for the person depicted; or
  • Otherwise authorised in writing by the person depicted.

In these cases, we’ll also ask for proof of your authority to act, such as a signed authorisation or guardianship document.

If you’re concerned about content showing someone you’re not authorised to represent, please use the standard in-app Report feature instead. Our team reviews these separately.

How long does it take for content to be removed? #

The reported content is hidden as a precaution as soon as we receive your report, before we’ve made a final decision. We aim to complete our review and reach a final decision within 24 hours of receiving a complete report, including identity confirmation. Incomplete reports take longer.

What if I gave consent before, but want the material removed now? #

You can withdraw consent you previously gave at any time. When submitting your report, let us know that your consent was withdrawn rather than never given. This doesn’t change how quickly we act, but it helps us handle your case correctly. A prior consent does not prevent removal once it has been withdrawn.

What if the material is a deepfake or was AI-generated? #

Deepfakes, face-swaps, and other AI-generated or manipulated depictions of a real person are covered by this process the same way as genuine recordings. Note that FansyMe already prohibits this type of content under our Terms of Service and Creator Agreement. A report through this process may also trigger action under those provisions.

What if the person shown is a minor? #

Reports involving a minor are treated as the highest priority. Where sexual content appears to involve a minor, we are legally required, as a German company, to notify German law enforcement without delay, in accordance with Article 18 of the EU Digital Services Act. We may additionally report the matter to the U.S. National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via the CyberTipline.

If you’re a parent or guardian reporting for a minor, use the same process described above. If you’re a minor reporting this yourself, you don’t need a parent or guardian to submit the report, though we’d strongly encourage involving a trusted adult. You’ll find support resources at the end of this page.

What if my account has been suspended or restricted because of an NCII report? #

If your content was removed or your account restricted following an NCII report, you’ll receive a written explanation of the action, its basis, and your appeal options, in line with our appeals process under Article 20 of the EU Digital Services Act.

An appeal doesn’t automatically restore the content while it’s being reviewed. If your appeal succeeds, for example because the original report turns out to be invalid, the content is reinstated.

What if I think this process is being misused to harass me? #

We take misuse of this reporting process seriously. Knowingly false statements in a report may expose the submitter to civil or criminal liability.

If you believe a false report has been filed against your content, document what happened, file an appeal, and let us know at [[email protected]]. Repeated misuse may be referred to law enforcement.

What if I’m not sure whether my situation qualifies? #

Submit a report anyway. Our team reviews every submission and will point you to the right process if this isn’t the correct one, for example our general in-app reporting, our DMCA process, or law enforcement directly.
